Hab.
I really need to post more. Why? Because I’ll seem uninteresting.
Okay, I am unintresting, but blogging covers it up, like makeup, or EMP bombs. (Go 24!)
So I come home from a 4 day vacation to Cape Cod (Did I mention this before? I have a sucky memory) and I decide to read the Planet. I figure 5 or 6 new posts, read em, find out cool things, tada. I look through and there is at least 2 pages of posts, maybe around 15- 16 new posts. That was when I realized, whoa, I’m unintresting.
But enough about me, or the fact I went on a secondary vacation.
For about 2 weeks now, I’ve been building a new computer. I don’t plan to make it a super-duper-uber computer, like one I saw in a Computer magizine, with a built in screen that shows the temp, and a bunch of cool stuff, but a better- than-what-I-have-now computer.
Later today I plan to go out and buy a few parts, and when it is done, I’ll post some picts onto here.
Lotsa Updates
It has been only one week since my last blog post, and there have been a whole lot of updates.
First, the obvious: I’m back. I went to the forums maybe once or twice, but not a lot since we had to see the majesty of California in a week.
First, we toured Hollywood, and visited the walk of fame and other landmarks. We then went to San Fransisco, with it’s Golden Gate Bridge. While we where there, we visited a nearby computer store, with insane deals on laptops. And thus, this brings me to my second update: I have a new laptop. A Fujitsu Nseries Lifebook, with more RAM and memory than my desktop. Got it cheap, maybe about half the price. Apparently, the place was doing extrememly well and they where having a blowout sale.
Then I went to LA, and then up to Sacremento, where I was a mere several (hundred) feet away from teh Governator while visiting the capitol building.
So, now onto the unread topics!
Top Secret Vacation
I’m not sure if any of you noticed, but I wasn’t here last week. Where was I? Was I captured by Brandon and forced into the ticket mines? Close, but no. I went to visit family and friends in Canada (Vancouver), and we stayed with my aunt, who doesn’t have a computer, and thus, no internet. I did manage to get a 5 second signal with my PSP, though.
I will be gone the entire next week, also, to a vacation to sunny California. Hollywood, to be exact. I plan to be highly annoying to everyone there by stating the ignored by obvious truth… Hollywood started in my hometown, Fort Lee NJ.
There was really no point to posting that there, so think of it as the Cool Fact of the Day.
Also, while looking at my blog… it seems a little bit… old. I’m thinking of new template and some modifcations… if it allows me. So if you see my blog with a wierd skin, then see it a minute later with another skin, I’m just playing with it.
I Deny My Existence.
I've followed Flock for a long time, and I was somewhat thrilled when this new version came out. And why shouldn't I? The previous version was great, for the exception that after an hour or two of use, every load froze the brower for about 10 seconds. So I spent an afternoon surfing with Flock, and the problem was fixed. No freezing, and just like the previous version, it didn't crash once.
Of course, it doesn't have the little ammenties, such as lists of extentions, and it's blog features are severely limited. But I'm giving it a 8/10 on my Logik Rate-o-meter.
My recommendation? Get it.
Um, Okay Pt. 2 [Uncensored]
Finally, I'm on part two. The post below more or less stayed in draft mode for about 3 months, but I finally got around to finishing them (aka I was bored)
Pfftage
Um, Okay Pt.2 later. This now.
As you should know, I use Firefox, and it's wubbly. Unfortuantely, suriving in the dangerous enviroment that is my computer messes up any program in there, especially one so used.
Several things have messed up in FF:
The ability to show Flash or any other movie. GIFs still work.
Memory Storage. At a predicable pace of 5 times, every 5 times I turn FF off, all my bookmarks and links are erased. Passwords and cookies still remain.
Certain Extentions: Greasemonkey, and IEView.
Built-in Search
Some of it I "fixed". Like for the search, I had to install the Google Toolbar. Not as convient, but it still beats going to Google.com and doing it.
Also, Stardust@Home is experencing problems and had their test date pushed back. Darn.
OMG, I R EXIST0RZ
Indeed, it's true. Since I haven't updated in quite a while, this will be either a long or short blog post. Long if the updates are important, short if I feel lazy. Which I am.
Anyways, I went to DC with some friends in my car. Around the same time, my Internet went b0rk, but that's a different story.
Anyways, we got in the car and stuff around 6:30 on Monday, and drove down to DC. First of all, we made a bet: who in the car can stand the longest without a rest stop. I was excluded though, since I was driving. No one wanted me to be uncomfortable while driving a passenger car loaded with 5 people.
We drove FOREVER, and it was a welcome sight when the Captiol's dome cam into view, even though we were on the outskirts of the city. We stayed at a nearby hotel, more specifically a Hilton HHonors (Why they have an extra H, we will never know) and I brought my laptop with me. Unfortunately, we couldn't find a wifi signal and the internet cable provided by the hotel gave us 56k speeds. We decided to spend the rest of the day at a steak house downstairs, eating and talking. (Mostly talking)
We visited the usual monuments, and we drove home, tired, and homesick. (I even remember when I dropped off Maurice, we ran up to his house and promptly hugged his laptop in the window for all to see. We drove away quickly after that.) Collectively, we spent a reletively short time there, from Monday to Wednesday. (I also found a wifi hotspot and used my VNC software to post from my computer, since my laptop's browser messed up)
Now to the Internet. One word, don't get RoadRunner. Or Time Warner. Starting on Saturday (and I guess around Tuesday, which was the time they gave us for a repairman), the house was internet and TV less. Fortunately, I wasn't there.
Thanks for tuning in to the Uninteresting Logik Report, I hope to see you again in a few years.
Oh Noes
What happened to the dedicated members lately? We had a few, some went bad, some went staff, and some… disappeared from existence altogether. What's with that?
Funny, eh
Oh noes! My Canadian past has caught up with me in eh form!
Anyways, before I finish up "Um, Okay Pt II", I went out to watch "Scary Movie 4" at the AMC theater at Ridgefield Park. First off, it was jammed packed with teenagers, and there was a line outside the theater. When the movie started, the doors nearly exploded with traffic, and soon the theater was filled to the brink. Even a few people were standing, having sneaked in.
Now, the movie. It's not as good as Scary Movie 3, but it was funny anyway. The story wasn't as good, but again, the jokes make you forget it. So, on the scale of 0 to 20, I'd give it a 7.
Also, when one of the characters said "I'll put it on myspace", everyone roared in laughter. I guess that shows how much the MySpace infection has spread.
