Large Worded Political Post Ahead: Turn right
I added the more tag above so I won’t have a large chunk of my post on Planet.

While I share most of the same opinions as Democrats, I have begun to differ more on one important issue: Iraq. Most senators would say “Get out of there now, let the Iraqi troops take over”, etc, I disagree. If we leave now, we leave a government that exists and continues to exist because of us, a power-hungry Iran next door just waiting to takeover, and 3 groups of people whose biggest obstacle has just been removed. First off, people would just say, “Hey, just send in troop trainers for the Iraqis, so they can take care of themselves!” Good idea, except those Iraqi troops aren’t very loyal to the government. While some are, most are only there to serve their needs by gathering information, giving out weapons, etc. Even the American troop trainers in Iraq say that. 2nd choice: Get out of there. Worst idea ever. Leaving would give the unloyal Iraqis in the army is freedom to simply rebel. The opposing factions in Iraq will just kill each other with carbombs, suicide bombers, and such. Let’s not forget about Iran next door. While I’m not sure if these accusations against Iran for giving Iraqis bombs are true, true or not, they will do something if we leave. They will probably send in troops to squash the opposition, and worse, the new Iran-controlled Iraq will become a breeding ground for terrorists in the future. If you grow up listening to lies/talk about how America sucks and if you kill yourself fighting them, you’ll go to heaven, I think you will take that all seriously. It’s not like they have CNN there or anything.
And finally, on President Bush. 90% of you said he sucks, is stupid, etc. While I don’t agree with most of his opinions, I do respect tht he is holding firm by keeping soldiers in Iraq. But it still doesn’t mean I’ll vote for him if I had the chance.
There may be a Pt2 to this, but I’m tired now. Zeh.
I’m glad at least one person shares my opinions.
I think a troop surge WILL lead to quicker withdrawals. We clearly do not have enough troops to control what we need to control to be able to leave. And without more troops, we’ll be over there 50 years.
President Bush does care about the troops, and I think he does realize the impact of the troops dying. And he’s trying to fix it. I just can’t stand people who bash him on everything possible. It’s like they think he should be a perfect robot or something.
